Fat Grafting for Fuller Breasts

Plastic Surgeon Explains How New Techniques Can Boost the Bust Line

As one of the most popular cosmetic surgery procedures year after year, breast enhancement techniques have continued to become more technologically advanced, offering more options than ever before for patients. While there are many choices for women to consider when it comes to selecting implants, now women can simply choose to use their body’s own fat for fuller breasts.

Dr. Bradley Calobrace, a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon explains that breast augmentation by means of fat grafting is an exciting new alternative that leaves little to no visible scarring. “The procedure removes fat from traditional problem areas, such as the buttocks or thighs, in a similar fashion as liposuction,” says Dr. Calobrace. “The harvested fat is then transferred to the breasts through tiny incisions no larger than the cross on a ‘t.’ The result is fuller breasts with minimal scarring.”

Dr. Calobrace adds that this procedure is part of a recent plastic surgery trend that focuses on using the body’s own components for cosmetic purposes. “While implants are still a reliable means of augmentation, many patients will have to replace them at some point,” says Dr. Calobrace. “Fat grafting offers patients a natural approach with similar results.”
