What to Expect During Recovery

Patient experiences vary after a Brazilian butt lift; in general, you can expect areas where fat was harvested and where it was placed on the buttocks to be sore, swollen, and bruised.

Because the patient’s own fat tissue is used, there is no risk of allergic reaction with fat grafting. It may be necessary to return for follow-up treatments if fat does not take evenly or if additional fullness is desired. Patients who do not have enough fat for this procedure may choose a nonsurgical butt lift with Sculptra ® injections.

Return to Work

Most patients are ready to return to work in about 1 week, but should avoid sitting for extended periods and refrain from strenuous exercise for about 2 to 3 weeks.
