It is estimated that 80 to 90% of all women over the age of 20, regardless of weight or body shape, have cellulite. Cellulite is an irregularity in skin texture characterized by a mottled, dimpled appearance of the skin. This appearance has been described as an "orange peel" or "cottage cheese." This condition is most commonly seen in women, with cellulite most apparent in the thighs, hips and buttocks, but occasionally is present in the "love-handle" waist region in men.
At CaloAesthetics Plastic Surgery Center, our patients often have many questions about cellulite removal in Kentucky. The fact is that today, women have more effective options than ever before. Choosing Cellulite Treatments
Cellulite is caused by the presence of chambers of fat immediately below the skin that become swollen. As the fat content increases, surrounding tissue becomes compressed and hardened, reducing blood circulation and trapping fluid within the columns of fat, thus worsening the clinical appearance. These columns of fat are separated by vertical fibrous bands of reduced elasticity which create depressions and dimples in the skin, resulting in the appearance of cellulite. The appearance of cellulite can be reduced to varying degrees with invasive procedures, such as liposuction, external ultrasound (performed by our plastic surgeons), and non-invasive procedures such as Endermologie mechanical massage. To learn about skin tightening through radiofrequency technology, view our ThermiRF™ page.
Cellfina™ smoothes out the dimples in the skin caused by cellulite. Here's how it works.
Cellfina is a breakthrough treatment for combatting cellulite. It is the only treatment cleared by the FDA to improve the appearance of cellulite for up to 3 years,1 and it is minimally invasive with little downtime needed.
It takes less an hour to complete the treatment, which targets the fibrous connective bands that cause cellulite. Those bands weave through fatty tissue and attach to the skin's lower layers, pulling down and causing the dimpled, "cottage cheese" look on the surface of the skin. Cellfina cuts the connective bands, releasing the skin, which gradually smooths out over the next several months.

CaloSpa at CaloAesthetics Plastic Surgery offers CoolSculpting, the advanced solution for targeting stubborn fat pockets that cling to many people's midsections. It uses advanced fat-cooling technology that is proven to reduce persistent fat in targeted areas without surgery or damage to surrounding tissue.2 CoolSculpting has been shown to reduce annoying areas of fat such as love handles, muffin tops, belly and other areas around the midsection.
At CaloAesthetics Plastic Surgery Center, Endermologie is available post-liposuction as a therapeutic massage technique. This is felt to reduce swelling and potentially produce an improved appearance of the skin post-liposuction. Endermologie is also used without liposuction to improve the appearance of the skin with a temporary improvement in the appearance of cellulite.
By using heat to stimulate collagen development, ThermiSmooth gently smooths away dimples and adds firmness for a noninvasive approach to reducing the appearance of cellulite. ThermiSmooth is effective for many areas of the body.
Using radiofrequency energy, truSculpt tightens skin and improves its condition, reducing the look of cellulite and shrinking unwanted fat deposits. This comfortable procedure is performed in our office without any disruption to the surface of the skin.CaloSpa Rejuvenation Center
