Brazilian Butt Lift 101: Everything You Need to Know

A woman pleased with her Brazilian Butt Lift results.

Sometimes exercise and diet alone aren’t enough to shape and contour your body. If you want a permanent way to enhance your curves, the Brazilian butt lift is an excellent choice. Our Louisville patients enjoy the extra boost this procedure gives their figures. Using your own body’s natural fat supplies during a butt augmentation, you can achieve flattering, natural-looking results too.

Curious if this treatment is right for you? Here are the answers to some commonly asked questions about this popular procedure.

What is a Brazilian butt lift?

A Brazilian butt lift is a surgical procedure that uses fat grafting to augment the buttocks. Fat deposits are taken from places such as the hips, stomach, and thighs and are injected into the desired areas. Because the procedure uses your own fat, the results are much more natural-looking than those achieved with implants. In addition to creating more roundness, a butt lift can also help with other issues such as correcting sagging or shapelessness.

How is a Brazilian butt lift performed?

A Brazilian butt lift is performed as an outpatient procedure under general or local anesthesia. It begins with the surgeon collecting fat via liposuction from areas with large fat deposits. After the fat is carefully harvested and purified, it is injected into the buttocks. Three to five small incisions are usually made around the buttocks for this fat transfer. After the incisions are closed up with stitches, the surgeon will apply a compression garment to reduce the risk of bleeding.

Does the procedure hurt?

Like any surgery, a Brazilian butt lift involves a mild amount of discomfort. However, patients are under anesthesia for the procedure itself and have nothing to fear from this process. You may experience some bruising or swelling during the first week of recovery. Your surgeon can provide you with pain medication to help alleviate these symptoms.

How long is Brazilian butt lift recovery?

Recovery after your Brazilian butt lift treatment will take around 2 weeks. Immediately after surgery, your bottom may appear much larger and swollen than you expected. Don’t worrywithin a few days, the swelling will subside. Avoid sitting directly on your bottom, and be sure to sleep on your side or stomach. Many of our butt augmentation patients in Louisville feel comfortable enough to return to work after around 7 to 10 days.

Brazilian butt lifts can add beautiful, natural-looking curves to your body. But this is also a delicate procedure that requires an experienced professional to perform. Be sure to find a board-certified surgeon, like the professionals at CaloAesthetics, to deliver safe, satisfying results.

      Hello Karen-
A BBL can range vastly among patients. It largely depends on the patient’s desired outcome. Many of our BBL patients fall between $9000 – $15000. When would you like to set up a consultation?
